Syrian Hospitals Bombed

The Color of Bone~

skulls
crack open
like broken bowls
blood
tingeing
brittle rims
bandaged
extremities
twist
open
splintered shafts
stabbing air
trapped beneath concrete
smashed
into jagged slabs
and jutting rebar
by bomb blasts
that throw
mortar and glass
as shrapnel
not out there
targeting
tanks
or terrorists
no in here
among gurneys
and nurses
a whole ward
of wounded
women and children
blown to dust
clouds
the color of bone
